The health and well-being of our guests and staff is LAVA Centre´s highest priority.
We are constantly monitoring the latest updates on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are in direct contact with the local authorities, the Icelandic Tourist Board and the Directorate of Health. We will respond based on the recommendation of these public health authorities.
Stricter guidelines
As for now we are taking all precautionary measures to make the experience at LAVA Centre as safe as possible.
In the light of stricter guidelines from the Directorate of Health we have reinstalled part of the interactive exhibition on a auto-run mode, meaning no physical contact is needed with the exhibits.

We take pride in having some of the highest rated and cleanest lavatories on the South Coast. We have doubled the amount of soap and disinfectant dispenser in the lavatories and increased the frequency of cleaning. We have also added disinfectant dispensers all over the centre. Inside every room in the exhibition, in the foyer, the gift shop and the café. The staff routinely disinfects all touch points such as credit card terminals, touch screens and door handles. We also provide disposable gloves if our guests prefer gloves.
Recommendations for guests

We kindly ask our guests to follow these recommendations; Stay at home if you are sick, wash your hands regularly and cover coughs and sneezes.
